What the heck is a WORKSHOP???
Everyone knows that there's nothing better than playing in a band, but it takes a lot of work to find the right people to with and a convenient, good sounding place to play.
The workshops at JamSpot put you in a band without any of the hassles. Our workshop leaders are all working musicians and experienced teachers who are there to make sure everyone gets involved and is comfortable. They come to each session with a group of songs to play (suggestions are always welcome!), help each player learn their part and lead the group playing through the songlist. We usually run through 4-5 songs at each session and we often record the best versions onto a CD you can take home with you.
Plus you get to play @ JamSpot, the local home for bands like J Geils, Caspian, The Cranberries, Passion Pit, The Roots, The Stompers and hundreds of others.
Just by showing up a for a couple of hours each week you'll greatly improve your playing skills, meet some people from around the area who share your love of making music and have fun. Guaranteed.
All Skill Levels and Instruments are Welcome*
All you need to do is show up.
We'll provide a workshop leader, music, all the gear, a great sounding room and a comfortable, friendly environment to get you playing with a group today!
Everyone is welcome, especially vocalists and horns.
The cost? Your first time is FREE so you can come by and check it out with no pressure or obligation. If you like what you see, the price is $20 for each 2 hour session, including room charge and all the gear.
